Transfer #8‏ & A little taste of Florida - May 26, 2014

Sitting by the pool right now watching this storm come in

Dear Family and Friends,

This week has been a pretty good week with some fun ward activities.
I wish I could send some but they are on my camera at the moment.  The
first activity we had was a movie night that we had on Friday night.
We watched The Testaments and had a pretty good time.  The turnout
wasn't so great though, especially after having a good turnout at the
movie nights we had in St. Petersburg.  The other activity was a
Memorial Day Picnic today and there were lots of people there.
Everyone one brought food, so we had quite a bit, and we had a bunch
if fun activities going on as well.  This activity was something that
the ward greatly needed and it brought unity to hue members as they
were able to interact with each other outside of church.  They had
activities like frisbee, football, hula hoop contest, water games, and
a three legged race.  Elder Ronfeldt and I dominated at the legged
race because of our such great comp unity.  We also had a surprise
visitor show up, a five foot alligator that was hunger for food.  He
wasn't too happy with us and started hissing, but at least he was on
the other side of the fence.

So for transfers, Elder Ronfeldt and I are staying together at least
until July 8. We are both thrilled with that and are excited to be
companions for another six weeks.  Great things are starting to happen
here, especially with the ward members. Since the activities have
brought people closer together, they are really wanting to help out
with missionary work now. Yesterday in ward council, we found out that
Elder and Sister Greenwood (Sr. Couples for the stake) have now been
reassigned to be full time missionaries for the University Park Ward.
So we now have a Sr. Couple, and a set of Sister and Elder
Missionaries full time in this ward.  Bishop Leedom talked about how
we sacrifice from 18 months to two years to serve in their ward, so
why can't members sacrifice even 30 minutes of the week to share the
gospel with others.  As we were talking about our list of less actives
and investigators, members we telling us that they want to help out.
Some members even told us of people that they have been working with
that they want to introduce us to.  I am so excited to start working
with the members more, especially since it's not us asking for help,
but them asking what they can do to help out.  Elder Ronfeldt gave a
great talk on Hope and Missionary work in sacrament meeting.  Then
Sister Innes shared her conversion story and strong testimony on the
times that missionaries knocking on her front door and the many times
that members shared the gospel with her.  She talked about the
importance that we have as members to share something that we hold so
dear to our hearts with others so that they too can receive the
blessings that come from it.  The ward mission leader also spoke and
presented the ward mission plan and the goals that the ward has to
rescues our brothers and sisters.

I can't think of too much else to talk about right now at this point.
Thank you so much for the prayers and support you send me.  I am so
blessed to have so many people back at home that love and care for me
so much.  Love you all.

Love,
Elder Chase Leavitt

Letter blerp from Makayla:
We had dessert with Elder Mitchell Ronfeldts Grandparents Don & Peggy Pierce.  Sister Peirce planned a fun dessert of cookies with pudding or pastacio ice cream and toppings on them like nuts, chocolate chips, craisins and coconut.  It was cute and we all had fun!  We showed them pictures from our phones of you two that you had sent me.  I printed the picture of you two wet with your bikes so she could post it on her family wall!!  They showed us her impressive herb garden and the camper and fishing pontoon boat.  No wonder Elder Ronfeldt wants to come back and go fishing with Grandpa!!  I could tell that Don's heart attack and recovery has been a bit tough on Peggy as she has cared for him.  But they are doing well and he is reporting to be able to get around better and improving.  They shared with us their trip to China and that was neat too.  They are super proud of Elder Ronfeldt as they know it was quite a decision to serve a mission!  Way to go Elder R!!  You have special grandparents and it was an enjoyable evening with them!  Keep it strong and faithful!!
Love, MOM

I told dad this already, but it is so weird to think of him not driving a truck anymore.  My teeth have been doing okay I guess.  I am really trying to take better care of them.  They have been sensitive this last week, but I go in on July 5. Hopefully it's the last time and every thing fits properly.  Do you want me to get the Sonic Toothbrush out here?
Trek sounds like lots of fun. That is so cool that you are ma and pa for a family. You are going to have tons of fun being together.
That's awesome that you are working on memorizing the family proclamation with the YW.  It sure is something that needs to be lived and followed in this day and age.
Loves ya bunches.  And thanks for everything that you and dad do for me.
Love,
Elder Chase Leavitt

Hey, I thought air a few things that I would like if at all possible
during this last week but you don't have to stress out about getting
them.
•Terra shield - the mosquitoes here are terrible, and they just love
my blood.  :P especially around my ankles.
•Largest Levi pants from my one of my boxes in he attic. The one pair
that I have are 32x30 and they are too small
•Sweet and sour meatballs recipe

Ps. I just got your email about sending me a package.  Thank you so
