October 28, 2013 Third Transfer Date

10/28/13

Dear Family,

Elder Whaley and I are staying together for another six weeks in St. Petersburg.  The other Elders in our ward, Elder Holmstead who came out with me, is getting a new companion tomorrow.  So we will have a new roommate in our apartment.  There will still be four of us living there. To answer your questions, that is our apartment and I am still sleeping on the couch. And that was Elder Farnsworth in the picture.  I will remember to bring my camera next week to the library so that I can send some more pictures.

This last week, we met with Sis. Darlene Patterson and her adoptive grandson Weston.  Weston lost his mom due to overdose of drugs and Sis. Patterson's son, Gary, is taking care of him.  He is really humble and doesn't know much about the gospel.  We went over to Gary's house to teach Weston and ending up teaching his kids as well. Along with another adoptive daughter who's dad committed suicide and they are now taking care of her as well.  We found out that Gary is a member of the church and he wanted us to teach the Plan of Salvation.  We already taught the Restoration with Weston and wanted to read from the Book of Mormon with him then do the Plan of Slavation with him.  But we taught it anyways and the kids really were interested in it and they all wanted to come to church. They weren't able to make it yesterday but they said that they would come this week.

Belinda who I talked a little bit about last time came to church yesterday also.  We were able to commit her that if she came, that the Lord would provide for her to get her homework assignment done and turned in on time.  She really enjoyed church and became great friends with Sis. Nye (Ward Mission Leader's Wife) and Sis Cruz.  Talking about Bro. and Sis. Nye.  Bro Nye really reminds me a lot of Grandpa Anderson. :)  It's finally starting to feel really nice to be outside now.  The tempatures have cooled off quite a bit and it's perfect for being outside and biking.

Love you all!!

Love, Elder Leavitt
