April 6, 2015- Re: Easter

I did get the Easter package that you sent to me. Thanks so much, Elder White and I both enjoyed the treats inside, and they were perfect snacks for General Conference. Out of the eggs that you sent to me, there are two of them missing. Numbers 7 & 8. I'm not sure what happened to them, but I just thought that I would let you know.

I think that I will just go to SUU and see if I can't get some sort of transportation so that I can come home on the Weekends. Hopefully I can find some decent and cheap housing in Cedar. Lindsay said that housing was $1000, which I think is quite a bit for student housing. But I'm not sure how much that it usually is.

I did have a great Easter, and I ended up watching GC at the church for all five sessions. No members homes or dinners for Easter. I feel like most of the ward members here are pretty shut off from missionaries, but hopefully we can start building some relationships with them soon. I miss St. Pete for that very reason, because we had amazing members there and I love them all so much.

I will see if this bike can hold up, or if I can't find a good one at a pawn shop or yard sale. I'll make it last one way or another.

That is pretty cool that you have been able to talk to Elder White's mom. Things have been going really great for us, and we work well together. We are just trying to find more motivation to get out and work hard. It has been really tough for me lately, especially with having a lot of people drop us this past week. Plus, I have been having a difficult time with it for the past few weeks. I was hoping that General conference would help a lot, but it didn't as much as I think that it would have. I don't know why that is. Maybe it is because of all of the talks on family and marriage. I really learned what my purpose is in the plan of salvation, and that is my role as a father on earth. I am been blessed with such great parents that have helped me to learn of the importance of families. Thank you so much for that!

I love you bunches, and I hope that all is going well!

This Easter I have been trying to relate to the girls what happened each day of the week before he was resurrected.  Like on the paper I sent you.  I hope you got it in time to be able to share that with others!

Monday: schools were early out, Lexie still had basketball practice.  Kiera had an orchestra concert.

Tuesday: Piano for Lexie & Lainee.  Choir for Lainee.  Lexie has a ball game which was lost horribly- I say that because it seemed like none of the girls had any energy let alone any fire to be playing tonight.  They just let them mop them up.  Kiera had a pageant workshop for make up and hair.

Wednesday:  Lexie had another ball game - this time they almost won but lost it at the end dad said.  We had to divide and conquer tonight as Lainee had a choir concert.  They did super good.  Time is coming close to the end of her years in choir at the Elementary school.  It is coming close for her to graduate from Elementary too.  The super sad part for me is that I have to graduate from Elementary too.  My baby is leaving the younger years.  This school has been so good to our family and has always kept an eye out for them and loved each of you kids.  I don't want to leave that little comfort.  You know how bad I am with transition.  tears, sniff sniff....
After ball Kiera & Lexie went to YW and had a better time learning great healthy smoothie recipes!

Thursday: Lainee had choir and after school chess club.  Dad & I quickly got off work to come home and change to get ready for Kinsee's baptism.  Their stake can hold individual baptisms and the family does the program.  It was fun because Kinsee had called and asked Chelsie to do the talk on baptism, Cassie to talk on the Holy Ghost, Kiera to play a violin number (she had Ben accompany her on the piano) and McKell and a new friend to sing a song about baptism with Kinsee.  Scott baptized and confirmed her and it was a good family evening together!  She was so happy to be baptized!
Afterward Kiera went to Bens to play games.  As the rest of us were traveling home G&G Leavitt called us and they had broken down on the road.  Their electrical or transmission went totally out.  So we turned around and picked them up as they had their car towed to Newby Buick.

Friday:  Schools out so the girls slept in and had the house to themselves till the afternoon.  When I got home I hurried to put together my baked beans and deviled eggs with chips & salsa for the Leavitt dinner get together.  Brian was allowed to have his kids for a day 1/2 so we held a time together.  Our girls made up games for the cousins to play.  And that they did.  They played and had a wonderful time in the backyards together.  When it was time to go they all cried and didn't want to go.  Brian will be happy when his divorce is finalized then the court will dictate how often the kids can be with him instead of Becky.  Sad situation.

Saturday:  Happy for General Conference!  Of coarse I slept in and got up and showered in time to hear conference start.  Then during the lunch break we went over to Monica's and had our Easter egg hunt.  G&G Erdmann joined us along with grandparents Johanson, and the Pope family was in town and joined us too.  As usual we still have some hidden eggs over at the Johanson's that were not found!  hehehe~  When the 2nd session started we headed home so that we could actually listen.
Then the Geraldo's invited us over for Dakota-their youngest daughters birthday celebration!  She has such a splunky attitude it totally keeps the family on their toes.  This 3yr old rules the roost!  It is hilarious!  They had Benjamin's mother (Spanish speaking only) Sister Monica (semi English mostly Spanish speaking) and Carolina (speaks decent English) with their 3 children from Reno over as well.  So this time instead of Aryne being immersed in English - I was immersed in Spanish and trying to understand!  It was good for me and I would like to learn Spanish!  Aryne made a rainbow piƱata for the kids and this awesome 6 colored cake!  Not just colored frosting but she had made 6 individual colored cakes, cut them into square and then used icing to block build it together!  WOW! This lady is so flipin talented every time I turn around she pulls a new talent out of her hat!!!  Dad came over for few minutes and then left but gave the kids a little siren for fun!  I love this family and pray that they will find a job here!  I don't want them to leave!

Sunday:  Happy for Conference again!  I really could use a couple days of it.  Just to be at home and listen.  It really is relaxing and would like more time for it!  Isn't it neat to have 3 more temples announced?  And in some difficult places in the world too!  The speakers today were super good and gave great life direction for us!  Afterwards we congregated over to G&G Leavitt's for dinner together again.  (With no Trey, Morgan or Ashlyn this time though.)  I did ride up to Brian's new condo today.  It is nice and small-yet big enough for a single person.  Dad helped him and grandpa hang up some curtains.

**From your last remarks last week, I will go ahead and start process on registration for SUU.  Unless you feel otherwise- just let me know.

I pray that you had a wonderful conference this Easter time!  Did you see it at the church or a ward members home?  Were you invited for Easter dinner anywhere?  Are there any families that you have connected with since you have transferred there?  just thinking of you....

How is the bike holding up?  I pray for you that it keeps up to do the job you need it to do for this short time of usage!  I wonder- would it be worth it just to go to Wal-Mart and buy a $100 bike?

The other night I got a FB message from Elder White's mother!  We chatted for a short bit as it was getting late.  She seems like a super nice lady and I checked out her FB page and their family seems wonderful!  We hope that we can find a time to get together!  I will have to remember to invite her to your homecoming!  She mentioned that Elder White has only sent a very, very few photos of him since he has been out the last 9 months.  She was excited to see him posted in the Cusick Mission FB with you!  She requested for me to send her any pics that you take to her. So send some this way!!!!  She also mentioned that the week you had 17 lessons he had not ever done that and Elder White was excited about it!  Keep it up!!

Know you are loved bunches and bunches!

Mom
