Re: Happy Birthday-Pie & Ice in the face!‏ - September 1, 2014

RE: from letter Mom sent to Elder Leavitt:

Is that at 10:08 my time, or Utah time?  If it is Utah time, then I will be sleeping at 12:08.  ;).

I don't know what advice to give for Kiera about physics with Mr. Shaheen.  He is a really good teacher and is willing to help anyone who puts work and effort into what they are doing.  If they are trying their best, he will help you figure out the problem if you can't get it. If you aren't even trying, then he won't.  So just be sure that she reads the assigned chapters.  I had a study group with Lindsay, Trae, Tommy, Kellie, and a few others and that really helped out a lot.  If she could find a few other students to work out problems with than that would be great. Tell her to tell Mr. Shaheen hi for me!

I saw the video of the pie being thrown in your faces.  It looks like everyone had a great time doing that together.  Did you pie Lexie and Kiera in the face also?

I will be sure to keep Dr. Gabriel and Sister Warby in my prayers each night.  I have so many letters that I need to write back to right now that I have been holding off on for weeks because I haven't had time to get to them.  I really need to. I will be sure to write Sister Warby one as will.  I added her to my list so I won't forget.

So I saw the pictures of both the blue and red dresses.  I am glad that she went with the red dress, that would have been my pick for her as well.  I wish that I could be there to see her in it, but maybe there will be a dance at SC next year that I will be able too.  That is a fun way that she got asked to homecoming.  She is going to love it.  I actually got an email from Kiera from Ben for me telling me Happy Birthday.  I thought that it was pretty neat. He seems like a really nice guy.  You will have to send me pictures of both of them when they go to the dance.  And tell Kiera that she will need to tell me how she as answered back.  I don't mind hearing from you too!  Thanks.   There is a good Mormon message video called 195 dresses that you can check out and watch. It just came to my mind as your were talking about how hard that it is to find a modest dress, and it would be cool if something like that was started up, but it would be a lot of work.

Thanks for putting my name on the card for Josh and Trey.  That is so exciting that they are being baptized.  I got an invitation to Trey's baptism.  It would be cool to be there for them.

Don't worry about the emails though out the week.  It isn't a distraction for me at all.  There have been several missionaries, especially in my distict, (Elder Coleman and Elder Hicken) who get super side tracked when they have family members emailing them every single day.  Then when the don't get one email on a day during the week, they are wondering what they did wrong and think that the entire world has collapsed on them and everyone has forgotten all about them.  I have realized that it is with all of the new missionaries who have come out and have an iPad handed to them the very first day.  They don't know what it was like before we had iPads, and are very concerned about writing their family and not so focused on the work that is before them.  That is one reason that I have fallen behind on my letter and journal writing is just because there isn't enough time to get to it each day.

I'm good on church shoes for the rest of my mission.  I still have one pair that I haven't even worn yet.  I wear the same ones everyday unless we get rained on and they are soaking wet. Then I wear the Dinkles (Marching band shoes that I have) until my regular one dry out.  Thank you for sending me my black nike shoes.  My Brooks that I have are destroyed now.  I'm just going to wait until I get home to buy a nice pair of running shoes.  There will be lots of clothing and other items that I will have to get at that time.  I am just going to trash these shoes. And probably trash a bunch if items if they don't fit or are worn out so that I have more room in my suitcases by that time, but it is still a few months away so no need to worry about it now.

Thanks for the birthday wishes.  I don't even know who we will be going to see tomorrow.  Probably just finding out on the street all day.  But I will take pictures if we visit with anyone.  I will keep an eye our for the package. Thank you so much.  I love you tons.

Love you old son,
Chase
