Re: HAPPY NEW YEAR 2015!!!‏ -Jan 5, 2015

Hey mom! I will start working on the letters for Lainee's and Lexie's birthday coming up!  Awe man, sounds like a lot of work for the blazer.  Does it look like it will continue to have issues with it? Sounds like a good pretty busy. Especially so workouts.  I had a tough workout last Tuesday that I am trying to recover from.  We did a push up pyramid, where we started at a set of 25, the 24, 23...2, 1, and then back up again from 1-25, doing 650 push-ups all together. It was tough, and I'm not going to do that again for a few more weeks.  Do you think that you and dad could send me some different work outs that target different muscle groups that I can work on in the mornings, that would be great. Thank you!

I'm sad to hear that you will no longer be the YW's President :( I know that you loved it, and that you did an amazing job!  I wonder where the Lord will send you next?

11 o'clock church will be late coming from here. That will be like at 1 pm church. Oh well, at least I don't have to worry about that for another six months.

I love you tons! Thanks for everything that you do!!

Love, Elder Leavitt,
(Aka, your best son ever!) :D

White Christmas!!!‏ -Dec 29, 2014

Dear Family and Friends,

This past week has been amazing, and it was such a great blessing to
be able to talk to you all on Christmas!  I am so blessed and grateful
for how much love and support that I have from back at home.  Thank
you so much!

On Tuesday, Elder Farley came on exchanges with me to St. Petersburg.
We also came out to the mission at the same time, so it was a pretty
good day, other than all of the lessons that we had canceled on us.
We did quite a bit of walking, the most that I have done in a long
time, and it was a really hot and humid day today. It was a little
miserable, and I was hoping that a little rain would come through to
cool things down a bit.  Everyone that we seemed to talk to today just
wanted to bash with us.  Especially these two baptists guys that were
mowing lawns.  They were trying to tell us how it's only by grace you
are saved, and that you don't need to be baptized.  The two scriptures
that I wanted to respond with "Faith without works is dead", and "If
ye love me, then keep my commandments." They wouldn't listen to a
thing we had to say, and they were just trying to preach to us the
entire time.  We still had a good time together with street
contacting, but that really isn't the most effective way to find
people.  Later on in the eveing, Brother Owen came and picked us up
and we went to visit with Charley for a hand off lesson with the
Seminole Elders.  The Seminole Elders are now Elder Coleman and Elder
Brandon. Elder Coleman was talking about how he has been out for eight
months now, which I think is crazy because I remember his first day in
the mission field, and I can't believe that he has already been out
for that long.  Anyhow, with the lesson tonight at Charley's, we went
over the baptismal interview questions to make sure that he wouldn't
need a special considerations interview. He passed, and now I don't
have to be stressed out with trying to getting President Cusick or
President Healey to come out and do an interview because the Zone
Leaders can now get it done. We had some really good discussions based
off of the questions like Thomas S. Monson being a living prophet and
the law of tithing, both of which we haven't gotten a chance to go
over yet with him.

For Christmas Eve, we started off with a fun district meeting. Elder
Stephens had a creative  activity planned where we had to wrap someone
up in wrapping paper and decorate them. We ended up being the winners
with wrapping Elder Farley up since he is the smallest in the group!
After District meeting, we went and had lunch with Elders Farley and
Anderson at Streak-n-Shake which was pretty good.  We also had an
awesome dinner with Sister Linda Bui and her nonmember son, Michael.
Brother Owen is the best member missionary in the ward, and he came
with us to the dinner. As we were eating, we taught the Restoration
lesson and answered a bunch of Michael's questions.  We then showed
"He is the Gift" which they both loved and enjoyed. Michael had to
leave dinner early to go to a church with a bunch of his friends. He
seemed really interested in learning more, so we will definitely
follow up with him. After dinner, Brother Owen dropped us off at the
church to get our bikes and bike home in the rain. It's only about a
mile bike ride, but we were drenched by the time that we got home.

So Christmas was such a good day.  So Elder Stephens is an amazing
companion.  He bought me some pants from Bealls, and when I went to
try them on, they ended up being way to small for me. I bet that I
looked pretty funny with super small pants on.  For lunch, we went to
Kevin Secrest's house with his family and we watched Bear open up all
of his presents that he received from Santa.  He is only three years
old, and he was having a pretty good time opening up all of his gifts.
Mary and Bobby Gill, Kevin's parents also gave me a give. They gave me
a blue University of Florida Gators jacket, which I think is really
cool.  We then had an awesome Italian dinner at the Hesse's home. Then
afterwards Sisters Abbott and Swisher read "The night before
Christmas" in their Texan accent.  It was so great to be able to talk
to everyone on Christmas.  That was by far the best gift that I got
was being able to talk to my family!

Friday morning, Elder Stephens and I were talking about how many
priesthood blessings that we have given since we have been companions.
I don't think that we have missed more than two days without giving at
least one person a blessing, I love the Priesthood so much, and I know
that it does truly bless the lives of others. The first one was to a
member from the Bradenton ward who was in the hospital. That sure was
quite an interesting experience there.  Since then, we have given one
to Sister Swisher, Donna Starks, I gave one to Elder Stephens, Bruce
Plumely, and that night we also gave one to Kirk Xamongkongh.

So guess what else happened? Charley got baptized yesterday!  I was so
blessed that he asked me to be the one to baptize him! It was such a
great experience, and both Charley and I enjoyed every single moment
of it!  I did make sure to get pictures before hand, so I will add
them at the end of the email.  I made sure that Elder Stephens and I
even wore our matching ties. (But I just realized that we didn't get a
picture of us wearing them together.  I was thinking that we did
because of the pictures of the baptism, but I was wearing a white tie
instead) Anyways, back to Charley's baptism. There was such a great
turn out of people who showed up to support him. It was awesome.
There are so many people in the Seminole Ward, and we met Mark Jones
who used to be a Seventy, and he was given that office by a guy with
the last name of Leavitt, so that was super cool.  Sister Nielsen, she
gave the talk on the gift of the Holy ghost, which Elder Brandon
confirmed to him in Sacrament meeting right after the baptism.  We
didn't' get to stay for it because we rushed back to the St.
Petersburg church hoping that we could make it back for the Sacrament,
but we made it there right as they were passing the water out.  I felt
bad about being late to that, especially when you have President
Cusick and the rest of his family attending.  The Spirit was so strong
during the program, and Charley seemed to enjoy every minute of it.
Charley even bore a strong testimony about how he was able to come to
the truth of everything for himself. He talked about his Jewish
background and how it was so similar to his beliefs that he had
before.  He also talked about his three previous wives and one
daughter who had all passed away, and then meeting Kathy Nielsen.
Charley is 74 years old, and now feels as if he has found the truth,
and that God has been preparing him for this this his entire life.
Charley did end up coming to the St. Petersburg ward after he was
confirmed a member in Seminole. Sister Nielsen had the lesson for
Relief Society class, so she had to be back for third hour.  Church
was also pretty amazing, we had two investigators show up. Jessie who
is a big black guy that has a big beard, and Taylor, who is twenty
years old.  Taylor referred herself online this last week, and we
invited her to come to church and she did.  She absolutely loved every
minute of it, even with being overwhelmed with so much information all
at once.  You will probably be hearing about her over the next few
weeks, and I think that she will be baptized pretty soon. She is
praying about a date for herself right now, and she wants to be
baptized. I am super excited to visit with her again and to help her
grow closer to Christ.

I don't have too much time now, but I just want to end with saying
that I love you all, and I am so grateful to have such great family
and friends that support me.

Love, Elder Leavitt

Re: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!‏-Dec 29, 2014

So I counted my Christmas cards for you!  I got thirty-two cards altogether, and twenty of them were from the Santa Clara 1st Ward!  I am so blessed for how much love and support that I have from back at home.  I am also thankful that I got to talk to you and the rest of the family for a while.  I loved every single moment of it!  Although I do much much better talking on Skype than I do on the phone! Kiera, (and probably everyone else too) can testify of that as well.  Just to let you know, it was Kevin Secrest that you met on Skype, but that's okay.  They are both really awesome people.  Tell Tammy and her family thank you so much for the package! I loved all of the goodies that they sent to me. :) I will have to write them a thank you letter in the near future.  I don't have time to write more, But I LOVE YOU TONS!!!

Transfer #13 with Elder Stephens‏- Dec 22, 2014

Merry Christmas to my most favorite family and friends!

This past week has been such a great week.  Elder Ware ended up
getting transferred to Lakeland where he is now a zone leader.  My new
companion is Elder Stephens and he is from Vacaville California.  We
both arrived her to Florida the same day, and we were supposed to be
on the same flight. But he is one of the two missionaries that missed
the connecting flight, so I best him here by a few hours.  I am super
excited to be serving with him, and to be with someone that has quite
a bit of experience as well.  So before transfers we were in full car,
but now we are on full bike.  Lets just say that it has been
challenging to figure out time management for traveling on bike.  We
haven't been on time to an appointment yet because we talk to everyone
that we pass by on the street.  I have learned to love all of Gods
children even more from talking to everyone.  There is quite a large
variety of types of people that we talk to, so it keeps things
interesting.

Charley is still doing amazing.  He is well prepared, and should be
getting baptized this Sunday.  The only sad part is that he isn't in
the St. Petersburg ward, so we will have to do a hand off lesson with
him pretty soon.  He went to the Seminole Ward and he said that he
enjoyed it quite a bit, so that was some good news to hear.

Felix is so strong with wanting to come back to church.  His date is
still solid for January 10th right now.  If you can keep him and
William in your prays, that would be great.  They are going to some
hard times right now, and could really use the prays. Thank you.

Elder Stephens and I finally got some Christmas decorations up.  I
will send you some pictures of the awesome paper Christmas trees!

Love you all, and I hope you have a Very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Re: T'was the week before Christmas....‏ Dec 22, 2014

First off to answer your questions! :)

1) I did get the three packages, I think it was on Tuesday or Wednesday when I got them
Sorry, I pressed send before I could even finish writing the email to you. So question number 2, I saved those gifts for Elder Stephens since he is with me for Christmas, I wanted him to have a little something. 3) it will actually be a little bit later than what we had planned on, probably around 1pm here in Florida, so around 11 there. Just have the Skype account open and I will call when I get the chance.  I'm praying that we will be able to have a good wifi connection at the church.  4) I did get the YW Christmas card, and I haven't figured out yet how I am go into respond to everyone, but tell them thanks so much for the letters.  I absolutely love them all.  I a, so grateful for all of the love and support that I have from home.  5) I didn't get the Megan and Hayden, and the Ingalls.  I did get some from dad today though.  6) Elder Michael Stephens is from California. His home mailing address is 101 Fairoaks Drive, Vacaville, California, 95688.

I have received so many letters and cards from the members in the ward.  I have been working on writing them all thank you cards, and I will be sure to write one to Jim and Debbie Ence. Thanks for letting me know.  Tell them all thanks for me!

I saw in Kayla's letter that she saw a cousin of mine in Mexico, but I couldn't think of who tot was until you said it was Derek. That is pretty cool that they saw each other.

Tell Lainee hi for me as well. And if you have questions to ask me for Thursday, you can write them down so you don't forget.  I'm never sure about what to say in my calls home.

Sounds like you have had a pretty exciting and fun week.  It is so weird to think that Megan is married now.  I'm glad that things went well for her wedding. Thanks for talking to Jordan for me. He told me last week that he had gone home.  I sent him another letter today just telling him that I am here for him if he needs anything.  I hope that things are going well for him now that he is back at home.

Well, I'm going to start my group email right now that we you can know what happened to me during this past week!  I loves ya tons! And I can't wait to talk to you on Thursday!

Re: Musical Week‏-Dec 15, 2014

I'm not really sure what time I am going to call yet, but it will probably be sometime in the morning.  As of right now, I will try calling around 11am here, or 9am your time.  Hopefully I will be able to do it on Skype from the church.  That is the plans so far. I will keep an eye for the boxes to arrive.  I am super excited for that and I can't wait!  I also think that it is really cool that you are doing a special Christmas for the Geraldo family.  I will continue to keep them in my prayers and that Bro. Geraldo can find some work and that things will get better for his family. I loves you tons!  Can't wait to talk to you in 10 days!

Love, your most awesomest son,

Transfer #13‏ - Dec 15, 2014

To my most amazing family and friends!

This week has been so much fun.  We have stayed super busy all week
long, and have had some good success. On Monday, we had a FHE with
Brother Owen and William. We planned on watching Mr. Krueger's
Christmas, but we had to go and pick it up from a recent converts
house.  She is usually always home in the evenings because she is a
bus driver during the day.  But today she had a field trip so she
wasn't there, but two of her friends were there because they wanted to
surprise her with a clean house.  One of them was really interested
and wanted to talk with us, so we stayed in the front porch and had a
lesson with her.  She had had such a thought life, and has gone
through so much pain with seeing close family and friends committing
suicide right in front of her. We set a baptism date with her, and she
really wants to know why all of these things are happening to her.  We
then gave her a priesthood blessing of comfort.  She felt the spirit
so strongly, it was amazing.  But later on in the week she dropped us
and told us that she didn't want to meet with us anymore.  We're not
sure what happened, but it's just not her time yet.

Tuesday we had another great lesson that I won't ever forget about.
It was with Charley, and this was our second visit with him.  Charley
is a Jewish man that has been dating a member.  He came to church
three times now with her, and Elder Ware thought that he was a member.
So we set up an appointment with him to come by and get to know him
more. Tuesday was our second visit with him. The first time we set
expectations with him and that a little bit about the Restoration. We
left him with the commitment to pray about Jesus Christ, and to ask if
he was the Son of God.  When we followed up in that commitment, he
told us that he had, but that no bells or whistles had gone off yet.
He had just said the opening prayer before this, then we asked him if
he would say another prayer right now to ask specifically if Christ is
the Son of God. We told him to take a moment of silence afterwards to
listen to what the Spirit was telling him.  We waited for about three
minutes, then five minutes, and it was still absolutely quite.  We
weren't sure if we should say anything yet or not, and kept saying
silent prayers to know what to do next.  We thought that there might
have been a small chance that he had fallen asleep on us. We waited
for a few more minutes, and after five minutes of total silence,
Charley looked up at us with tears running down his face. He then told
us of what happened. That he had seen a vision of Christ walking, and
his three wives and daughter that had passed away walking behind Him.
He told us that he also had heard a voice telling him not to worry,
that they are well taken care of.  Charley then said, "I know that
Christ lived on earth, and I guess that he is the Son of God."  It was
such an amazing Ammon experience, probably the best that I have had in
my mission so far. It was so great.  We had also set a date the first
visit and committed him to pray about it, and he asked if he could
push back a week. So he has a date set right now for December 27, but
that might have to change because he doesn't live in our ward
boundaries, so we will have to figure that out this week.

Wednesday was combined district meeting the entire zone, and we played
dodgeball right afterwards. Then we all headed down to Fort De Sota
beach for the FTM Christmas party. Same place that I went last year
for it. I hash so much fun there playing ultimate frisbee, singing
Christmas songs, and watching the beach sunset.  I was sore for a few
days after the party from playing dodgeball and frisbee, but it's all
good.

Thursday morning started off with interviews with President Cusick.
Really not to much to talk about there, besides I got my very first
hug from him at the end of the interview.  Hugs from President Cusick
are unheard of, so I was really surprised when he told me to give him
a hug.

Not too much happened on Friday besides having dinner with Bishop
Bangerter. Sister Bangerter makes some really good food.

On Saturday, we went to a Christmas parade with Kevin and his family.
It was a lot of fun. And on the walk back to his house we sang
Christmas carols, which turned out to be pretty sad because none of us
knew all of the lyrics to any songs.  We went back to his house for
homemade cheesecake that his mom made for his birthday. Afterwards, we
had an awesome discussion with his mom about temples and how someone
prepares themselves to go to the temple.  Kevin walked out to the car
with us when we were leaving, and he told us that he wants us to set a
date with his mom when we come back. He has been telling us to hold
off all week, but after how open she was tonight, he wants us to go
for it. So we all prayed that night separately, and came back the next
day to church and talked about it.  We all felt like the second week
of January would be good. We extended that date to her yesterday after
church, and now she is praying to know if it is right for her or not.
I will let you know what happens with that next week.  Also on
Saturday, we got our transfer email.  I am staying in St. Petersburg
for another transfer, but I will be receiving  pa new companion.
Elder ware is leaving, but we won't find out where he is going until
transfer meeting on Thursday.

Sunday, Felix came to church with William!  It has been about two
weeks since we have talked to Felix. Since that time of not talking to
us and not going to church, he has noticed that his life has started
going down hill with work and health.  He is going through a difficult
time right now, and also just found out that he had blood clots in his
legs again. Felix told us that he wants to start meeting with us again
and coming to church every week.  After sacrament meeting, we had a
lesson with him and gave him a blessing.  We also set a date for
January 10 for baptism, but there is a chance that it might be moved
up from that time. We will wait and see.  I'm excited to start working
with him again.

It has been an exceptional week, and I'm excited to have another one
just like it!  I love you all so much.  Thanks for all of the love and
support!

Love,
Elder Leavitt

William's Baptism!!!‏ - Dec 8, 2014

Dear Family and Friends,

This past week had been such an amazing week, but not without its normal stresses.  In the end, everything turned out great and finished with a powerful spiritual weekend.

It started with our awesome family home evening plans with William and a member family falling through after the canceled on us 20 minutes before we we supposed to b there.  We then decided to have it at the church with William, and called Sister Marble to see if she wanted to join us.  We had no clue what we even wanted to go over, and we were brain storming in the way to the church.  It wasn't until we pulled into the church parking lot when we figured out what we wanted the lesson to be on.  We wanted to teach about the Holy Ghost and how he communicates to us.  For the activity, there was one person who would be blindfolded, and they would have to find a picture of Christ that was hidden in the church building. Then there would be one good voice, and everyone else would try to lead the blindfolded person in the opposite direction.  Everyone got to be blindfolded once, and only two people fell off the right path, but they were both able to get back on.  Elder Ware was one of them, and we got him to walk outside the building. This lesson turned out to be exactly what William needed, because he had every intention of coming to us that night to put off the baptism.  It really helped him, and the rest of us to see how important that it is to follow the correct promptings that we receive.

I don't remember much of what happened on Tuesday. We thought that we had found some solid investigators that loved every word about the restoration? But we haven't seen them since Wednesday.

On Wednesday was exchanges with the zone leaders.  Elder Ware went up to Palm Harbor while Elder Gherkins came with me.  It was really cool to be with Elder Gherkins again, since he was my district leader in Sarasota. He is the one of the missionaries that came from the Sierra Leone Mission because of the Ebola outbreak.  He is actually going home next week, which is really weird to think about.

Thursday was a day of Priesthood blessings after we did our weekly planning.  Only problem was is that I was out of Consecrated oil, and Elder Ware doesn't have any.  So we had to find member who had some and borrow it from him.  It is such a great blessing to be worthy to use the Priesthood authority given from God to bless the lives of others.  I love seeing the faith that people have to ask for a blessing from our Father in heaven.  I know without a doubt that His Priesthood power is real, and that it has been restored back on earth for us to be blessed with today.  We also gave William a blessing that evening to help him know what he should do.  He wants to push back the baptism because he doesn't think that he is ready, and he is afraid of making mistakes afterwards.  He was told that he was taking everything way to fast by some friends, and he wasn't sure what to do. So we knelt down in the middle of his driveway and said a prayer with him. It was such a cool experience.  He then change his mind and we went to the church so that he could try on his baptismal clothing.

Friday was another day of exchanges with the Gulfport elders. Elder Stuart came up with me to be in St. Petersburg. We had some really good lessons throughout the day.  William also had his interview for baptism, and President Healey came and did the interview with him.  It was great that he came because he really made William feel comfortable.

Saturday was the baptism, and it as so incredible to see William in the water! Kevin, who is a recent convert and an amazing guy performed the baptism.  He himself was baptized about a month ago, so that was really cool to see him doing it. William ended up getting dunked five times. The first two was because he didn't go completely under, and the other times the pray was said correctly.  But eventually it happened!  Afterward we had the ward Christmas party with a small nativity scene.  There was such a great turnout there, especially of nonmember family and friends that came.

William almost gave us a heart attack in Sunday. He was late to church and we tried calling him several times with no response.  He finally picks up his phone and said that he slept through his alarm.  Even though he was late, he still received the Holy Ghost at the end of fast and testimony meeting.  It was such a spiritual sacrament meeting with so many testimonies being shared.  Sister Marble gave an amazing testimony about missionary work.  He just got released as being a wars missionary, and is now is the second counselor in Relief Society.  But there is no way that we are going to let her off of the hook that easily. I just love there family too much for that to happen.   William loved the moment he received the Holy Ghost, because he couldn't hear anything else besides Brother Marble speaking and giving him a wonderful blessing.  We later went to the marbles home for dinner and had some really good Navajo tacos. They gave William a gift of some pictures they put together and congratulations card signed by everyone in the family and by us missionaries. He loved the gift so much, and you could tell that it meant a lot to him.  William then came with us and watched the Christmas devotional, in which I cried for the third time today.  Especially when they were talking about the neighborhood getting together for the four year old boy and having every holiday crammed into one week! If you don't know what I am talking about, then you should go and watch the Christmas Devotional on LDS.org.

Last thing.  HAPPY 24TH ANNIVERSARY MOM AND DAD!!!  I really have the best parents in the world, and I love you so much!  I am so blessed to have such great parents who love and care for me so much!  I wish you the best, and I hope that you have a great anniversary today!

Love,
Elder Leavitt

Conversation w/MM of a Tampa FL Missionary- Nov 28, 2014

From Missionary Mother Email Group:
And...I hesitate to ask, but I think I'm not the only one sending more money to my son for food each month. If you send extra food money, how much do you send? My son was a weight lifter and has a lot of muscle that burns calories. He was starving on the $140 a month.

Response:
This probably isn't the answer you are looking for, but it is the way we do it.
I don't send extra money.  I think it is important that my missionary sons learn how to budget and learn to get by with what they have.  These are important life skills for them to learn now.
If they are meal planning and spending their money on unprocessed carbohydrates and protein sources, fruits and vegetables it is possible for them to get enough to eat with the money they have.  I will say that when my son was living in an apartment with 3 other elders, oftentimes he was the only one with money left at the end of the month.  They were also in an area where they were not fed by members very often.  He did plan ahead and cooked, albeit simple meals he could put in the oven and have ready in 30-45 minutes while he did other things.  He didn't purchase many processed or prepared foods.  If they plan meals together they can save even more money.  Last time I asked he said they ate quite a bit of chicken, rice and pasta.
My nephew who served in FFL bought a crockpot and would put dinner in it in the morning before they left so they could have dinner ready when they returned.  His impetus for this was all of the processed foods his companions were eating.  He was also into his health before he left and wanted to eat healthier foods but didn't have a lot of time in the evenings to prepare meals. His mom and sisters sent him some simple recipes with inexpensive ingredients that could be cooked quickly.
Good luck,
 Melissa Dabb

I second this as well.
I don’t think it is the same in all wards, but many wards feed the missionaries daily. Some times a transfer will be in an area where the members don’t prepare meals but then the next area will.
MM Cathryn Farr, Gig Harbor WA,
Elder Seth Farr, Florida Tampa, May 2014 - 2016

Heidi,
My son is using extra each month too, however, he is not very good at planning ahead but he's learning.  I have realized how important it is to work on cooking inexpensive, simple meals with them before they leave.  Maybe by the time he comes home, he will have learned.  I can only hope.  I did learn from my son that they have raised their monthly allotment to $170.  Maybe that will help.
From: LHEDIN@dsdmail.net

Thank you. How is your son doing, Lori?? Do you know when they raised the amount?
Thank you, too Melissa. I think I need to send him a cookbook. Mark was a really good eater before he left, he went through a ton of fruits and vegetables; but they do cost a lot of money! And milk. Here, he drank almost a gallon a day. If anyone has great meal ideas, send them my way and I will send them to him. I do realize that planning for meals is not his forte. YET.
Heidi

Heidi,
He is doing really well.  Thanks for asking.  I met your son while I was there.  For those of you readers that don't know, my son had a bycicle accident and broke his collar bone in four places.  He had to have surgery.  Long story short, the mission president gave us the option of either bringing him home, having the surjery done at home or me going to Florida, taking care of it there and staying with him until he was well enough to return to full missionary work. My son did not want to come home so I went there.  I spent 6 days being my son's companion.  It was amazing!

I am so glad you could go, and happy that he is doing so well. I know that's something we all worry about- an accident. I'm glad it was "fixable."
Heidi

Lori Hedin, my son Elder Leavitt in Tampa FL wrote a bit ago and mentioned about Elder Hedin- I just now put the two together!  Elder Leavitt along with his current companion Elder Wing had the opportunity to be with your son for just a few days before you came and before his surgery.  He mentioned what  a cool person Elder Hedin is and that he hopes all is going well for him and with his surgery.  He also mentioned how "weird" it was to see him with his mom.  LOL!  Love it!
