Dear Family and Friends,

This last week has been pretty good. On Monday, we went to Sarasota
Jungle Gardens with the Innes family.  It was a lot of fun.  I will
have to send you pictures of it later because they are on the camera
and I can't get them on my iPad.  We got to feed flamingos there and
then we got to hold some birds.  It was pretty cool.  They had a 675
lb crocodile there also, it was the biggest one that I have seen here
on Florida, until the next day when we saw a 700 lb crocodile in the
wild.  The count for alligators is now at 25, which was 3 when I left
St. Pete, and crocodiles is at 2. After p p-day was over we had a
family home evening lesson with the Parisi family.  They are so
awesome and remind me so much of my family.  Bro. Parisi is a fireman
and also has a cool mustache, just like you dad. They have five
daughters.  It was a fan FHE as we taught about humility and then ate
carrot cake afterwards.

On Tuesday is when I spent most of the day at the dentist getting my
chipped tooth fixed. Not really fun.  But Dr. Leavitt is a way cool
guy and we sort of found out where we are related a few generations
back, which was pretty cool. (I was going to send you a picture of it
but I forgot to take it, so I will send that to you later.)

On Thursday we had some drop by lessons with some less active members.
One of which told us that has been going to a baptist church for a
while. He expressed concerns about the prophet Joseph Smith and the
Book of Mormon.  He then shared the feelings that he had as we were
talking about the restoration and how he was so happy that we are
coming to teach him and wants us to continue to come by so that he can
learn more. We also visited with a member from Utah and her mother in
a care center.  We shared the Mormon Message "Moments that Matter
Most" which is one of my favorite videos.  I love how quickly that the
spirit can enter into a room just by sharing a short video.  As we
were leaving, we showed her Mormonchannel.org and she loved it and
never knew that it existed. On the way home guess what happens.  Yup,
another flat tire.  Got a nail in my tire and ended up walking the
last two miles home.  But at least we were close.  Haha

Saturday was a great day. In the morning we biked to Marin Parisi's
sculling (rowing) race that she had.  We went to support her and to
talk to the Parisi's friends there. It was super cool to watch and
reminded me so much about cross county and track.  They had tents set
up all over the place. Sis. Parisi reminded me a lot about you mom.
She is awesome, cheering her kids on while video taping the race and
yelling into the phone.  :). While there, we were able to talk to one
of their friends and she asked a little bit about the church.  She
asked if we were Christians and once she found out that we were, she
committed to coming to church to see what it was like.  Sis. Parisi
briefly brought up general conference, so we were then able to talk
about living prophets and apostles and how we are able to listen to
them.

Speaking of general conference, I absolutely loved it.  We watched it
at the church and we didn't have any investigators come, but they may
have watched it at home. Not sure if any of them did yet.  What stood
out to me the most was the need to be going to the temples and maybe
that's why no new temples were announced yet because people aren't
going as much as the are supposed to.  So we need to help members to
set this as their ultimate goal and to help them understand the
importance of going.  We also need to be obedient to the covenants
which we have already made and continue to live them.  I can't wait
until I am able to go to the temple again.  I hope that you are all
doing everything that you possible can to make it to the temple
whenever the opportunity arises.

Love,
Elder Leavitt

April 1, 2014-Dentist

I know that I am not supposed to email on other days than Monday, but
I just wanted to let you know while I am sitting here waiting for my
mouth to numb what is going on right now. Mi came to the dentist today
because sometime in Sunday or Monday I chipped my back tooth.  It was
a tooth that has been worked on before because of cavities and I guess
that one of The fillings or something came out. Not entirely sure.
Anyways.  Dr. Aaron Leavitt is taking care of it. Meh is a member of
the church.  He said that he is going it have to put a crown on it.
:P.  So if you see anything on insurance or many taken from my card,
that is why.  I will let you know more about it later.

Loves ya.

March 31, 2014-Exchange with the Zone Leaders‏

This week has really been a great week and I was able to learn so much and really feel of the Spirit throughout different activities. On Friday, I went on exchanges with Elder Hubbard in his area. We had an awesome day with contacting two less actives for the first time. Both of them shared their super stong testimonies about temple attendence and the blessings that come from going, and about the restoration and the way that the church is set up with the Priesthood authority. I am so glad that we were able to get in touch with them and to see their great desire to come and watch general conference. Also on exchanges Elder Hubbard called a less active who they had visited with once before. It happened to be his mothers phone in California but she was so happy that the missionaries had visited her son and gave him the right number. So he called it and the wife (nonmember) picked up the phone and said that her husband was not interested and didn't want anything to do with the church, but she wants to meet with the missionaries to learn more. So that was really neat.

We had a great Fast and Testimony meeting yesterday. The spirit was so strong there as many great testimonies were being given. I don't know if you have heard of the family that died of carbon monoxide poisoning in the night and the son and daughter who were on their missions returned home. The sister of the father who had died lives here in the UP Ward. She gave a powerful testimony about the Plan of Salvation and the peace and comfort that it has brought to her life, and also talked about the many opportunities that came for her to share the Gospel with others.

We also got a new ward mission leader yesterday. He is super fired up for missionary work and is really excited to be helping us out. I too am way excited to finally have someone to work with again and. I know that the work is going to start picking up because he had great ideas while talking about it in Elders Quorum and wants to put this ideas into action.

Elder Ronfeldt has been feeling a lot better lately, he got his blood test back but they didn't show anything put of he ordinary, he still has a fever that he has had for then past week and a half and a bad cough, but other than that he is doing much better.

On Wednesday we had interviews with President Cusick.  My interview was super short wi him, usually they are about 15 min long but mine was only 3-4 min long, and that as because he wanted to talk to the small group of missionaries that were there about finding because we have all been having a tough time with that. He told us to try to go to activities that family's have, like sport games, piano recitals, play, whatever it may be. Or to go take a tour of the members work i possible. Then to talk to everyone there and just to introduce yourself.  So we may try some of these ideas.  The average referrals for a month from a ward is 1.4 referrals. That is only 18 pet year. Then think about how many of me actually become investigators, then baptisms it of it.  We are supposed to be having 20 lessons a week and we can't be relying upon the members because that's not going to happen.  So we are just trying to be creative and try different ways of talking to people.  I know that having a new ward missionary leader is going to help out a ton.

I was looking at the home ward roster the other day and their are quite a few names that I didn't recognize on there. It will be a new ward when I get back.  And that Mutual activity that you did sounds like loads of fun.  I was laughing while reading through it because I can just see those people doing those things.  I am really glad that you liked the Women's Conference Broadcat.  I sometimes wish that the Men's was a week also. Great way to start off Conference week.  Sounds like a busy and fun week.  Thank you for the package of sweets. :). I got it on Monday and I have been enjoying them.

Loves ya all,

I was wondering if the reason you are getting more flats is because of the numerous miles you have on those tires?

If you need new tires, get some.  There is enough money in your account right now to do so if you need some.  Keep yourself running properly so that you can get to your appts and not overheat walking so far.

luvs!

Mom

Thanks, I just got new tires two weeks ago for $50.  :P and still got flats afterwards.  The roads here in Bradenton are really dirty and covered with debris, so I just need to watch out.  Is there a way that I can check to see how much is on my card?

Love ya tons

I am super excited for the Fort Lauderdale Temple to be opened and dedicated, even though I can't go to it.  We do get to participate in the temple dedication on May 4 which I am super excited for and I can't wait.  The Fort Lauderdale temple is so beautiful and I love all of the detail for the stain glass, to the celestial room, to the tile and carpet work, and the chandelier. It's just so amazing and I can't wait for the opportunity to go there myself
